Enhancing cultural competences as a lever for the development of individual and collective skills at the service of social cohesion

Welcome on the Art-Connection website

This site is dedicated to the European Art-Connection project (Erasmus+ 2019 > 2022) led by four partners located in France, Italy, Portugal and the United Kingdom, working in the sectors of adult lifelong learning, inclusion and social work, but also cultural heritage and higher education and research.

The Art-Connection partners have developed a project approach and innovative contents based on humanity’s shared informal cultural heritage, in connection with the 8th European Key Competence, relating to cultural sensitivity and expression.

Art-Connection partners have developed a Participatory Action Research approach as a cultural entry point to produce a set of educational resources contributing to a paradigm shift in terms of orientation and recognition, valorization, and validation up to the certification of acquired experience (RVAE).

Competence in cultural awareness and expression involves understanding, and having respect for, how ideas and meaning are creatively expressed and communicated in different cultures and through a range of arts and other cultural forms. It involves being engaged in understanding, developing and expressing one’s own ideas and sense of place or role in society in a variety of ways and contexts.
Council Recommendation of 22 May 2018.
